With Winter well and truly here, we’re bringing to you our weekly slot of yummy, quick and easy and most importantly, nutritional Slow Cooker recipes to try and make life as easy as possible for those days and evenings where life takes over!
This week we have a delicious slow cooker version of our ‘Stage 3, Baby Beef Ragu’!
To Serve Four You Will Need:
- 600g diced beef – the cheaper cuts are perfect for recipes like this!
- 1 tin of chopped tomatoes
- 2 finely chopped carrots
- 2 finely chopped celery sticks
- 1 tbsp tomato purée
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 2 tsp mixed dried herbs
- 80ml water (or red wine!)
- 1 beef stock cube (use reduced salt stock cubes or your own homemade stock)
Method
- Pop your beef, tinned tomatoes, carrots, celery, tomato purée, stock, garlic and herbs into the slow cooker (so everything!).
- Pop on low for 6-8 hours
- In the final 15 minutes, using a masher, press down on the meat. It should fall apart and mix nicely with the sauce. If needed add additional water.
- Remove portion for baby and whizz up to their preferred texture.
- Serve with some tasty seasonal veg or pasta.
Delicious!
