“Croía took to weaning like a duck to water. Her first taste was an egg custard and then we moved on to purée fruits and veg and sweet potatoes etc. From a very young age she used to be lifting her head to try get a bit of what we had (this never stopped) then when she started with this range she flew through the journey because she was slowly being introduced to different textures. Now there is nothing she won’t eat. Weaning was “supposed” to be a difficult journey for us. But Croía’s was no different to any other baby. “
“Croía was a beautiful surprise for me and Craig. We found out at 12 weeks pregnant that Croía had Down Syndrome which brought on a tonne of emotions but the main one being unconditional love. We had lots of scans to check on Croía’s health and learned she would have to have heart surgery and tummy surgery very early on. But when it came to it she recovered like a champ. She is such a fighter and a real Miss Independent.
The first 4 weeks of Croía’s life was spent in the hospital which was very tough but we got to spend that time in our own little bubble with her which we are eternally grateful for. The bonding time we had with her was nothing short of amazing. The whole way through our pregnancy after we were told of all the things Croía wouldn’t do or achieve and from day one she has proved all those people wrong. She is smashing all of her milestones and making us the proudest parents every day.
She is the cheekiest little girl that has so much love to give and brightens peoples day with her beautiful smile. So you could say our journey to parents was a bit out of the ordinary but I wouldn’t change it for the world. “
“Beetroot!”
“When I want a night off or when I’ve run out of my own batch cooking. It also comes in handy when Croía comes home from playschool hungry and wants something that second! We bring the dishes on days out all the time. Even if we’re just going to the park we have it in a thermal flask ready to go for when she gets hungry. She loves it and it’s a healthier option than running to the shop if she wants a snack!“
“On Croía’s first birthday we got her a beautiful pink cake to smash. As we were taking her pictures we realised the amount of icing she was getting in at a quite impressive speed! Then we remembered the amount of sugar in it. Croía was like a Duracell bunny for about 2 hours after and I needn’t explain the explosion we got up her back after it! “
“A big stew. There’s nothing like a hearty stew from the slow cooker in the evenings! For batch cooking I’d say a curry. We all love it and Croía loves picking all the vegetables out to eat separately. “
