Tell us a little about Ellie
Ellie is 8 months old and a right little character. She’s full of energy and is such a happy and playful little lady.
Ellie is now on the move so her favourite thing to do at the moment is crawl around and explore the house. She is so inquisitive and loves to know what’s going on and what her surroundings are. I need eyes on the back of my head with her…. she’s fast!
What is Ellie’s favourite mealtime?
Ellie loves her dinners! She’s a great little grubber and I’ve thankfully never had any issues tying to get food into her which I know I am very lucky for!
Ellie loves avocado, sweet potato, banana, salmon, brocollli, peppers. I always try and season her food when I am making it as it’s good to get her used to new flavours , I would often use garlic, basil, cumin, corriander etc. That’s another reason why I love Pip and Pear as similar ingredients are used in the dishes.
What is your favourite dish to prepare for Ellie?
I really enjoy cooking for Ellie… although I dread the clean up! I love trying her with new tastes and combinations. At the moment she is really liking fish and I have also been inspired by the Lovely Lentils dish to come up with different combinations of lentil dishes made with chickpeas or flaked salmon/ cod etc.
Any fun tales or stories to add about your weaning journey so far?
Ellie is a record holder for polishing off bananas. I often break her off some only to turn around and she has eaten in a flash!! I have also found mashed raspberries in her ears when I given them to her. When she is really enjoying a meal she will smack on her high chair to hurry up and feed her faster ….. (takes after her Mammy!)
That’s it from Mum Jessica and her little girl, Ellie. It is great to hear all about Ellie’s weaning journey and we absolutely love seeing parents getting stuck into the weaning adventure! We’re excited to hear how Ellie gets on entering stage three in a few weeks – stay tuned!!
