“Finn loves his food but struggled with texture for the first few months. I could literally give him anything if it was blended with sweet potato, it is his absolute favourite thing to eat. Since he has got used to different textures he is a dream to feed, he will try anything (at least once) and loves that he can now feed himself. Hearty Beef Stew is his favourite because it is full of flavour and is perfect for him to manage with his spoon.“
“I wish I could say my journey into motherhood was easy and almost boring but unfortunately like most parents, it wasn’t. After years of trying and a loss, our beautiful little boy Finn was born just before Christmas (5 weeks early). He stayed in NICU for a little while and was discharged on Christmas Day (yes it was the best Christmas present I could have wished for). I thought it would be smooth sailing once he was here because it was something I had wished for but being a mom is hard. They can warn you about it all and tell you to look out for the signs but of course I ignored them all not wanting people to think I was a bad mom but when Finn was 6 months old I was told I had PPD. I started seeing a councillor who was amazing and helped me find myself again. Parenting is the most rewarding and difficult thing a person will do in their life but my goodness it is worth every minute of it. When Finn smiles at me or when my cuddle is the only thing that will fix something it makes my heart double in size. We got the most amazing surprise during lockdown and found out we are expecting again (this time naturally) and I couldn’t be happier. Finn rubs my belly and says BABA all day long which melts my heart, and I know he is going to be the most amazing big brother and I can’t wait to see it. “
“It makes me very sad to say but he will NOT touch avocado.“
“When I want a night off or when Finn is visiting friends or family. Unfortunately, we haven’t been on many trips but when we go to visit nana and poppy in Kerry the fridge is always filled with Pipin Pear. You know he is getting a healthy dinner and our time can be spent with them rather than over a cooker. “
“He will eat like a gentleman at home, very little mess, but when we go out especially to some of the nicer cafes it is like feeding time at the zoo. Food everywhere; hair, ears, clothes, he even got a waitress once who walked too close to him. Thankfully she was lovely and saw the funny side of it. “
“Definitely Bolognese and curry. The bolognese works in so many ways; with pasta, with potatoes or as a lasagne, and as for the curry, well who doesn’t love a curry.”
