“Their first taste was porridge in January 2019 while we were visiting my parents. I got a bit nervous even though they both took to weaning like ducks to water so I held off trying them again for another couple of weeks. I initially gave them different purees that I had made and when I got braver I also incorporated baby led weaning. They love their food and will try anything I put in front of them, they are quick to tell me if they don’t like something too though. They both had issues with eggs and dairy and so we spent many months going up and down both ladders under a dieticians supervision which was quite stressful. They can both tolerate egg and milk when they are cooked within dishes now but can’t drink cows milk. Weirdly they can both eat cheese and yogurt with no reactions. The girls love pasta and can not get enough of the Pipin Pear Superstar Pasta”
“ Éloïse and Isabella are my rainbow babies. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a mother and shortly after we were married I had an ectopic pregnancy and that dream seemed very far away. Three years later after many scans and tests I found out I was pregnant with the girls, I was so happy. When the scan showed it was twins, I was ecstatic as I had always wanted twins. My pregnancy was very difficult, hyperemisis, gestational diabetes plus the girls shared a placenta so every scan (of which there were many) was full of anxiety. I didn’t enjoy being pregnant at all but I love every second of being a mother and I would go through the awful pregnancy again in a heartbeat if it meant having Éloïse and Isabella. I love watching them navigate the world, seeing their enthusiasm and interest of absolutely everything and watching their bond grow. It is both a joy and an honor to be their mother. “
“Isabella will eat absolutely everything but Éloïse can be quite fussy with meat, unless it’s mixed up with other things. “
“When I’m at work, or I’d like a night off or just when I’ve run out of my own batch cooking. I would quite often bring Pipin Pear pots with me if we go for a late walk and won’t be back in time for dinner. They are a godsend to hold off hangry children and the Freggie Bites are the best on the go snacks! “
“The first time we ever gave them baked beans they closed their eyes and started saying “mmmmm” so loudly, it was hilarious. Then they decided that they were just so good that they had to wear them too, so they both got fistfulls of beans and rubbed them all over their hair and faces and then stuffed the remainder into their mouths. When they had finished, Éloïse got her bowl and put it on top of her head and said “ta-da!” and Isabella followed suit. Needless to say both babies were given a bath straight after! “
“I love to batch cook cottage pie for the girls, it is their absolute favourite meal and I put loads of veg into it so it is full of goodness for them. Sometimes I swap out regular potatoes for sweet potatoes just to change it up a bit. “
